During all First Aid courses organised by First Aid 1st each person will receive a First Aid Book, Training Pack and Personal Hygeine Pack. A Certificate will also be issued to each person upon meeting the full criteria and payment of the course.

 
 
 

Appointed Person ~ 1 Day
This course aims to train staff in the skills and knowledge of Emergency First Aid in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981; with no pre-requisite this course is suitable for any person nominated by the employer as an Appointed Person in the workplace. (Course Ref: EFAP)

Course Syllabus:
- Introduction to First Aid
- What should be done in an emergency
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (adult)
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Control of wounds and bleeding
- Simple record keeping

 

 
 

First Aid at Work (Initial) ~ 4 Days
This course aims to train staff at the required level of skills and knowledge in First Aid, in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981; with no pre-requisite this course is suitable for any person selected by the employer to be a first aider in the workplace. (Course Ref: IFAW)

Course Syllabus:
- Introduction to first aid
- The legal framework for first aid in the workplace
- Incident management and safety
- Adult basic life support
- The unconscious patient
- Control of bleeding and shock
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Major / Minor illnesses
- Head and eye injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Poisonous and harmful substances
- Basic casualty handling
- Simple record keeping and first aid equipment
- Knowledge and skills assessment

 

 
 

First Aid at Work (Re-Qualification) ~ 2 Days
This course aims to update and re-qualify staff at the required level of skills and knowledge in First Aid, in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981; a pre-requisite for this course is that suitable persons chosen by their employer should hold a current First Aid at Work certificate, which is within 3 months of its expiry date; A 28 Day Exemption is allowed from the Certificate Expiry Date. (Course Ref: RFAW)
